EVA IRFAM – There is Hidden Violence Affecting Migrant Women

Working together for an inclusive Europe.

The aim of EVA IRFAM project is to increase the capacity of migrant women, youth and LGBTIQ people to recognize and get out of GBV (gender-based violence) situations by providing:

• support services,
• an awareness campaign and training of specialists working for public institutions at national level in identifying, intervening and preventing this phenomenon,
• the development of ICAR 

With the support and expertise of the Norwegian partner, ICAR will also seek to improve authorities’ (in Timisoara, Bucharest, Giurgiu, Galati, Radauti and Somcuta Mare – cities with reception centers for refugees) response to GBV capacity building sessions, with a focus on changing discriminatory attitudes and the creation of minimum working standards.

Workshops for migrant and Romanian youth to improve their knowledge on GBV.

Trainings for specialists

Training sessions for public authorities’ representatives and NGO’s involved in offering assistance to migrants in Romania.

GBV Resource Center

First research report on GBV affecting migrants in Romania. Working guide for the specialists.

Correct information

Sex education sessions, information session regarding migrants’ human rights.

Advocacy

The beneficiaries in the project will present a series of advocacy and awareness activities.

If you want to put part of your time and enthusiasm to work in the migration field, join our team of volunteers!

What kind of activities can you do as a volunteer?

- support our communication activities (event organizing, awareness campaigns, questionnaires etc.);

-  logistical support for the organization of focus groups with migrants and other stakeholder in the field;

-  taking photos for the activities we organize;

-  illustration and graphic design (creation and input for the materials and guides for the refugee/migrant community, the authorities that will take part in the capacity building workshops etc.).

What can we offer?

- the possibility to have a direct contribution on behalf of refugees and migrants in Romania by participating in our projects;
